Nordic Consumer Policy Research Conference 2007: Call for papers
Place: Helsinki
Date: 3.10.2007 - 5.10.2007
Further information:
TOWARDS A NEW CONSUMER? TOWARDS A NEW CONSUMER POLICY?
Venue: Helsinki, October 3-5, 2007
Organizers: The Nordic Forum for Consumer Research
Local arrangements: The National Consumer Research Centre, Helsinki, with the
support of the Finnish Ministry for Trade and Industry
The programme will consist of
• Presentations by invited key speakers from research and policy-making
• Papers presented by consumer researchers
• Special sessions where researchers and policy-makers will jointly discuss selected current
topics within consumer policy and research
By this call, we invite you to submit papers to the conference.
To secure a broad coverage of relevant topics, the organizers have put together a preliminary
list of conference themes, most of which we hope to cover during the event.
For these areas, a number of scholars from the Nordic countries have agreed to function as
conveners. They are listed in the enclosed list, together with the specific themes. The conveners
will be jointly responsible with the Nordic Forum for the peer review and selection of the papers
to be presented and will seek to organize sessions in which practitioners and researchers debate
the policy issues involved.
Please note, however, that you are of course also welcome to submit a paper within other
areas of research relevant to consumer policy than those listed in the list of themes.
Furthermore, if you would like to organize a special session with a number of contributions
focusing on a particular topic, then please contact the Programme Committee Chairman (see below).
Proposals for roundtable discussions are also encouraged. Such sessions will offer
opportunities to discuss policy issues, current topics, or future research agendas. They are
especially targeted at stimulating discussion between policy-makers and researchers.
Via the Internet, accepted papers will be made available to all participants before the
conference. Papers as well as presentations at the conference must be in English.
