"What is new energy technology materials research  now and where it is going?"

  • Start road-map work, Discussion (current state, Goal in 3-5 v, Goal in 5-10v, what should be done in Finland, where we need international partners)

13.30-13.45: Coffee in groups

The workshop is based on group work and discussion.  Discussion groups were:

The preliminary application oriented groups of the "New energy technology materials" theme are:

  • Group 1: Transportation. Chairman: Nils-Olof Nylund, VTT

  • Group 2: Heavy machinery. Chairman: Mika Räsänen, European Batteries

  • Group 3: Consumer/Industrial devices . Chairman: Markku Rouvala, Nokia

  • Group 4: Energy industry applications . Chairman: Petra Lundström, Fortum

Note: Focus of this workshop is on Batteries, Super capacitors and Energy harvesting as we already surveyed solar energy applications separately in Jan 2009.
